Bob Heil visited the National Hamfest, from the US, to give two lectures on “sound” and to demonstrate some of his equipment. You may not have heard of Bob but you have probably heard his work, see his Wikipedia entry – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Heil.

Everyone he spoke to, he thrilled!
Bob and Sarah Heil at the National Hamfest
As part of his visit he was making a video, which he is planning to show on his video podcast – Ham Nation.
HAM Nation is the new TWIT show about ham radio. Bob Heil, with various co-hosts and guests will cover the excitement and importance of ham radio – from tossing an antenna wire in a tree allowing you to talk to the world, to the importance of ham radio operators in time of disasters.
If you use iTunes you can subscribe to his feed, both audio and video. I was not able to hear his lecture at the show (as the Hamfest Co-ordinator, I had no time to even look around the show as a “visitor” but that did mean I did not spend any money!) so I am looking forward to this broadcast.
UK National Hamfest – Sept/Oct 2011.

Lincoln Shortwave Club
It has been a busy day – with no chance to blog until after the LSWC end of show Chinese meal.
This is Bob Heil and his wife Sarah. Bob came over from the US to demonstrate his audio equipment and to give some lectures at the show. The National Hamfest and LSWC took him out to Lincoln for the evening, which included an opportunity for him to play the organ in Lincoln Cathedral.
Showtime! But first bacon and eggs, of course.
It is going to be a long busy day but I will put some more photos up when I get chance.
The traders start setting today and for some it is a 4.30am start.
More photos to come during day.

The tents are going up.
GB11NH will be operating from the marquee below, from tomorrow evening
It is Sunday 26th September by this time next week the Hamfest will be over – except for the cleaning up. I am here to check the building before we start the set up, so I thought I would post a photo of the hall empty – just add one Hamfest.
