I have spent the day at a cyber security conference in London. Excellent speakers and a great lunch.
…and from the conference.
John is going to be giving a webinar for our clients, that realise that cyber security is something they need to take seriously – probably in the New Year – watch Smart Thinking for details.

After three days of being a tourist, today I have to work. For the morning rather than work in the hotel room I found a coffee shop which also had bacon rolls and would let me sit there for a couple of hours.
When the laptop battery ran down I had a wall around the town then headed back to the hotel to carry on working.

I was out at a job this morning and rather than stop at McDonald’s I made my own coffee and had a sausage roll I packed. The money saved by not going to McDonald’s goes into my ISA.
There was time for a short walk along the River Slea.
We are at a cyber security and information technology conference today at Manchester United’s stadium. One of the things we are looking at is to extend the security monitoring services at Smart Thinking and Octagon. Watch Smart Thinking’s blog for an announcement in the next week or two.
I had a two part article published today on Octagon Technology and Smart Thinking Solutions about upcycling old technology and the cyber security implications of doing so:

I needed a photo of the machine we installed Linux Mint on – this is it. There was not much I could do about the mirrored screen, except include these flowers in it rather than a view of the office.
This is a photograph for the company social media and day 2 of the Guardians of the Galaxy Lego advent calendar.
The photo is going to be used to promote Octagon’s Christmas competition – there are prizes…

Today’s Lego was presents for yesterday’s Peter Quill – headphones in a Christmas box and a Walkman with a cassette tape. Here is a better photograph.
Speaking of cassette tape here is something I wrote for Octagon about data storage…
…and the post shown in the first photograph.
