Before heading into Inverness, it took me half an hour to clear my car of snow and ice. When I set off, the thermometer in my car was showing -9 centigrade but on e I got to Inverness it was plus 3, sunny and very little signs of snow in the city.
I also bought a sleeping bag.
Ultra Sil Day Pack – Sea to Summit
I was going to buy a lightweight stuff sack/dry sack for using to carry some extra kit strapped to the top of my Golite Jam. However I have bought this day pack instead as it will probably be more useful.
here it is packed with my Swiss Army Knife for comparison
It is a 20l pack for 68g. On longer backpacking trips I can use it for groceries or for day walks out from campsites – when I was away last May Day I used my Golite Jam when day walking, this will be more suitable.

Between the snow showers and the sunshine I did couple of miles along the Speyside Way.
This shot is possible using Pro HDR – shooting straight into the sun.
Today was not a good day for walking – so other than going into Aviemore for a coffee, I have watched Stargate and Cowboy Bebop videos and the snow through the patio windows.
