The Lake District pt1

We got to Kendal at about 3pm – a bit late for a cooked breakfast – but fine for a homemade cheese scone and tea.

We are camping at the Windermere Camping and Caravan Club site – which is between Kendal and Windermere. We got the tents up – and then had a short walk to catch some of the colours in the sky.

We cooked and ate our dinner in the Backpackers Hut and whilst in there there was a hail downpour.

I have meetings today in Huddersfield – so as I am over halfway to the Lake District it seemed a good opportunity to go on and camp for the weekend. I have brought with me my backpacking kit with the addition of a folding camp stool and a winter weight sleeping bag – neither of which would fit in my Golite Jam.

On the way out I picked Richard up and spotted this interesting light fitting.
