This is not Clara!

Jeremy and I were watching Dr Who last night, when we spotted an odd shot. Jenna obviously did not make the filming that day, so the director just used someone else and then the editor just let the scene through!

It did not look like Clara to us and we thought she was a bit tall!

Did they not realise that us and everyone else with a TiVo or Sky box would rewind and freeze frame to spot the substitution!

Caught in a spider’s web

I really like this new version of Camera+. It is easy to get the right exposure and focus point for the image you are looking to create. The controls are well thought out and available quickly when needed.

And if you miss, then there is always Lightbox and “The Lab” to crop and tweak your images.

Caught in a spider's web

I used to use Camera+ a lot but drifted back to the built in camera app, when it changed in iOS 6 and 7. Now with the latest Camera+ I am back to using it as my go to camera on my iphone.

My two top features:

  • Macro setting that really works – see here
  • Wheel control for exposure compensation with live view

… and check out the Clarity feature.

Technology is supposed to make our lives easier, allowing us to do things more quickly and efficiently. But too often it seems to make things harder, leaving us with fifty-button remote controls, digital cameras with hundreds of mysterious features and book-length manuals, and cars with dashboard systems worthy of the space shuttle.

A couple of hours walking along the Witham

I had to drop Diana off in the city at 7am this morning, so it was a good opportunity, on the way home, to park in Washingborough and walk along the Witham. The light was low in the sky and bright so it gave some good late summer shots.

I’d packed my breakfast and cook set, so I had my tea cakes with homemade raspberry jam and tea, sitting on one of the benches on the river bank, looking out on the river. A very quiet and calm way to start a Sunday.

Why does tea always taste better when you drink it outside?

Shadows are always a problem when shooting landscapes with a strong, low sun.

Unfortunately I could not make a day of it, as I had to get back to my office. We have a big job on tomorrow in Grimsby and I need to make sure everything is organised and ready for Martin to head up there first thing.
