Walking in the Rydal Valley

The weather improved today so I travelled a few miles up the road past Rydal, parked and went walking and geocaching. Geocache score for the day 2.

I crossed the river between Grassmere and Rydal Water and climbed up from there towards Loughrigg Fell. It stayed dry and sometimes sunny where I was but I could see the rain in the distance.

At lunchtime I found a convenient bench, with a great view.

Time to tidy up a server room we have inherited

We took this job over a some months back and at the start we had some important priorities, of which setting up a backup was top of the list! They now have one of Octagon’s, fully managed and monitored, in and offsite backup solutions.

Today we have reached the point of switching off the server and sorting the cable spaghetti – having checked we have a usable backup just in case.
