I am at clients in London today. Most of the day will be taken up planning a major software upgrade that we have to manage later this year. It may be that we will end up replacing the current system for something new!

There was an internet issue at one of our clients today. I went to fix it and of course it was the wifi point in the, dusty, dirty suspended ceiling that the problem!
A “re-purposing” of some cabling and a switch and the wifi was back up and running. We will look for the break in the cable later.

Having taken some advice from the people I visited yesterday, I am not heading south, away from Lincoln, back to the M4, but “northish” and then east, using A roads through Wales.
That meant there was an opportunity to stop in Aberaeron, for cake and coffee, and to catch up with stuff at the office, phone calls and email.

The walk back to the car was via the harbour.

I am in Wales today, visiting a software supplier for one of Octagon’s clients. I have been working over the past few months researching companies that can provide a system our client needs. Following the research, I organised a number of presentations at their office by a selection of possible candidates – and this one in Wales made the best impression.
But before the final decision is made, I have spent the day looking at the software in more detail, talking with the support and development team and working my way through a list of technical, procedural and security questions. All of this I will then report back to our client so they can make a “safe”, informed decision.
After the meetings were finished we walked out to look at their PV array.

I gave our Technology without Tears presentation tonight at the Positive Networking meeting in Peterborough. It was a great group to work with. There were challenging and engaging questions from them and a number made contributions that helped me get my points across.
Special mention has to go to Paul Wilson who was prepared to be the “guinea pig” as part of my presentation.
At Positive Networking tonight, Paul gave a short but energy filled presentation on why his social media training is the recipe for success.
