I had to reschedule my day to go out and help a client and one of their suppliers connect some new expensive equipment to the internet. Today I had to do a quick job so these contractors from Holland could keep working – later once we have ordered in a better router we will go back and make it more secure.

Among my jobs today was fixing a noisy fan in this server. A careful blast of canned air soon fixed the problem.
With the noisy fan fixed it was back to testing the software for the client. This is a project that Octagon Technology have been managing and working on for over twenty-two months and “go live day” is now only five weeks and one day away.

Most of my day has been spent in meetings – but any meeting is better with chocolate biscuits. It was raining so I had one!
I have meetings in Louth, Spilsby and Horncastle today and it is Friday so it was time to get the MX-5 out. I haven’t driven it since coming back from our Scotland holiday (it was not big enough to move all of Jeremy’s stuff to Heriot Watt University!) so I was just looking for dry day and an excuse to use it.

The office where the course is being held today, is in a very nice area of Bath. The road has been closed and it is like an urban village. We found out the hard way last night that the road was closed when the satnav tried to take us down it!
