It was hot in the office today so I took a couple of hours off and went for a walk.
I had not planned for coffee, but I had a water bottle and a mug, there was a spare stove in the car and the rest of the makings, coffee, spoon and lighter, were in the haversack.

Headed out for a walk today. it rained a bit but not so much to stop a lunch stop.
I had planned a short walk but the wind and the threat of rain cancelled it.
It was snow not rain.

The stove is a “Bushcraft Essentials” twig burning wood stove with an insert for alcohol gel fuel – the insert was the bottom of a small tin of Burt’s Bees lip balm. It is not the most efficient stove but a good stand-by stove to carry with my brew kit. One measure of fuel – about 20ml – is enough to heat about 300ml of water to coffee or stock cube soup temperature. I use an up-cycled hand sanitiser bottle (60ml) to carry the fuel.
