The way home @TheAA_UK
I packed away early this morning – it was a dry morning, barely a dew, so the tent went away nearly dry. Usually the flysheet is wet with condensation but not today.
For the first part of the journey home I had prepared a list of geocaches along the A697 to Morpeth – the road right outside the campsite. Several of which led me to interesting locations that I would have missed had it not been for geocaching.
The AA
The first stop was a picnic area with an unusual memorial and an orphaned arch!
Maelmin Heritage Trail
After stops in Greenlaw, Coldstream and Cornhill-on-Tweed, my final stop was the RAF War Memorial in Milfield. I did not find the cache but adjacent to the memorial is the extensive Maelmin Heritage Trail. Well worth the stop.

A day geocaching
Back to work tomorrow – today I set out to go geocaching in the local area, to include getting fuel in Galashiels and lunch in Stow at a cafe recommended to me by one of the campers.

This cache was in a lay-by near the campsite
Gullet Wood
Stow
It was strange geocaching in Stow as the caches were part of a treasure hunt and history trail around the village. Instead of having to be careful about searching and looking suspicious, it seemed like everyone knew what I was doing.
Excellent history trail – I would recommend it.
I’d recommend the Cloudhouse cafe in Stow as well, free fast wifi and good tea. Also the wifi let me catch up with things at the office and speak to client on Skype.

Last night’s sunset at Lauder Camping and Caravan Club Site. An excellent site with excellent wardens that many people miss out on and drive right past it!

A day in Edinburgh
I went into Edinburgh today to meet up with Jeremy, geocaching then took us to a part of the city we had not visited before.
