Lauder Campsite – April snow
I woke during the night to hear the patter of snow on my tent, but as I was warm in my goose down sleeping bag, I went back to sleep.
I woke up again at about 5am, made some coffee and shot this view from my tent, whilst still warm in my sleeping bag.

Walking today
After a slow start to the day, I set off to look at a hill fort, that is advertised here at the camp site. It was not far away but I stretched the walk out to about an 8 mile loop, which included a lunch stop. The weather was excellent, but once up high I needed a fleece to stop the chill in the wind. For lunch I found a convenient wall to shelter behind to keep out of the wind, so I could make some tea using my meths stove.

What remains of the Hill Fort and Settlement is a series of earth works, high up with a great view of the surrounding area.
Packed – MX-5 Boot Bag
I am off to Scotland tomorrow, camping. As I am dropping Jeremy off at Herriot Watt University, on the way, I need some extra luggage room for the MX-5. So my tent, food, sleeping gear and a few other bits of gear are going into the 50l Boot Bag.
