Walking
Headed out for a walk today. it rained a bit but not so much to stop a lunch stop.

Coffee and croissants in the sun.
The stove is a “Bushcraft Essentials” twig burning wood stove with an insert for alcohol gel fuel – the insert was the bottom of a small tin of Burt’s Bees lip balm. It is not the most efficient stove but a good stand-by stove to carry with my brew kit. One measure of fuel – about 20ml – is enough to heat about 300ml of water to coffee or stock cube soup temperature. I use an up-cycled hand sanitiser bottle (60ml) to carry the fuel.

Spring is here today – I did not really need the jacket but it made a good seat. Coffee from a flask not a stove.
Another morning walk over towards Potterhanworth – with Chai tea and croissants for breakfast.
As it was bright (but cold) this morning I put my breakfast in a pack and went for a walk across the fields.
Breakfast was coffee and croissant.
Out from Branston to Potterhanworth and back.
I travelled light – I carried the makings for my break in my jacket cargo pockets. Small flask, titanium Sierra cup with a folding handle, Alpkit folding spoon, instant Aldi barista coffee and some Malt Wheaties. I packed the gear in the cup and wrapped it in the bandana to stop things rattling and to protect my pocket from the ends of the cup handle.
The plastic sheet I sat on was folded and went in my trouser cargo pocket, with my gloves.
Later there was a great sunset.

As it was a nice day I packed my lunch and went out. I also had to give the battery in the car a run and get more fuel – so en route I stopped in a good lay-by with access to some footpaths.
I packed my backpacking cooking gear so I heated water and made fresh ground coffee. The rest of lunch was a hot cross bun and a banana. Once that was finished I headed off for a mile or two across the fields.
The weather was so nice that when I got back to the car, I made some tea and joined my next Teams meeting whilst sitting out in the sun.
