Walk to Potterhanworth Wood
I went for a short walk across the fields to Potterhanworth Woods – taking a short break there for some coffee before heading home and beating the thunder storm.
It was a chance to photograph the last of the poppies as they fade away and the fields before they are harvested.

No backpack or stove today – I took a flask and instant coffee in a Molle water bottle case on a shoulder strap and carried the essential waterproof jacket in the back pocket on my Rohan vest. I had plastic sheet to sit on, which when rolled up slipped into the Molle loops.
I tried some Kenco Millicano coffee today – in individual sachets – and it was OK, even Richard who is “particular” about his coffee thought it was alright.

Today’s Photo
I managed to shoot this in our garden just minutes before a huge thunder and hail storm hit Branston.
I used the Camera+ app – it has a useful function to split the exposure and focus points – so I could focus on the central flower but expose for the lighter right hand flower.
Then to lift the image I used the Clarify filter in the Camera+ Lightbox. Below is the original image.
…and here is the rain through the patio window.
That Flower Again
I have posted this photo again as the “post to Facebook” plugin had stopped working – so I had to update posts since The weekend to get them to show on Facebook but this one did not include the photo for some reason!
Here is the link to the original port on my blog https://www.clivecatton.co.uk/2012/08/02/flower/.
Flower
I got this shot minutes before a heavy rain shower – so it was very overcast. I processed the shot using Photogene2 and the high contrast mono filter I created in the app.
