I took a couple of hours out today for a walk. A check of the map and I headed out to some nearby green spaces.
During this walk I could hear the planes at Heathrow, the traffic on the M4 and M25 and the GWR trains. I did not see anyone else on these footpaths except a deer I disturbed and some golfers.

Inverness
I took the train to Inverness, as I was still not feeling great. It is very convenient and I can have a beer with my lunch.
The view from the train
Lunch was excellent, wood fired pizza, with local lamb and mint and a Black Isle Yellowhammer cask beer.
Definitely coming back here in the summer with the boys.

Jeremy, Kirsten and I went into Edinburgh for the evening, to eat at the excellent China Red and then on for a drink in the city.

It has been very windy today – enough to put waves on the loch.
I did get out and walk but because of the weather my plan to try out my new pocket stove did not happen.
Robert Burns wrote a poem about The Birks of Aberfeldy – there is this statue along the river, commemorating it.
This leaf was embedded in fractured ice.
